BEING A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT UVA MEANS TAKING ON THE CHALLENGE OF PURSUING EXCELLENCE IN BOTH ACADEMICS AND ATHLETICS RATHER THAN SACRIFICING ONE IN PURSUIT OF THE OTHER. BEING A PART OF UVA’S SWIM & DIVE PROGRAM MEANS TAKING ON THIS CHALLENGE NOT FOR OUR OWN RECOGNITION, BUT FOR THE TEAMMATES WE GET TO DO IT WITH. 72% of all athletic scholarships, with the remainder coming from our endowment.
A portion of operations for each of the University of Virginia’s Olympic sports, including expenses such as recruiting costs, team travel, and equipment are covered thanks to Friends Of donations.
Academic support to help our student-athletes succeed in the classroom, in competition, in the community, and beyond.
Additional costs due to the NCAA granting an extra year of eligibility for student-athletes to return in 2022–23.
