The Guide to Giving is a comprehensive guide for new and long-time donors that describes the Virginia Athletics Foundation’s (VAF) fundraising needs and goals, and the impact donor contributions have on student-athletes’ experiences.
The Annual Fund
The Annual Fund includes gifts made by University of Virginia fans including alumni, student-athlete alumni, friends, and businesses. Each year, more than 9,500 individuals make the commitment to be members of the Virginia Athletics Foundation. The financial investment of VAF members helps position our teams to successfully compete in the ACC and on the national stage.
Cavalier Academic Achievement Award
The Cavalier Academic Achievement Fund is designed to raise funds to support academic achievement awards, encouraging student-athletes to take full advantage of the academic experience at the University of Virginia.
Programs & Initiatives
Various programs and initiatives have been established to achieve fundraising goals and give special recognition to donors.
Endowment
Endowed funds provide a lasting source of support for Virginia Athletics. Gifts can be made to establish endowed scholarship funds or sport-specific operational funds to assist with annual budgetary needs.
How to Make a Gift
Gifts or pledge payments to the Virginia Athletics can be made by cash, check, credit card, stock, or through an IRA distribution.
