Lisa WayandDevelopment Assistant
Lisa Wayand joined the staff of the Virginia Athletics Foundation in July of 2016. She is instrumental in providing administrative support for members of the VAF development team and is responsible for customer service related activities and day-to-day operational support for the Foundation.

She and her husband have lived in Charlottesville since 1999 after moving around the country for eight years. A native of Pennsylvania, Lisa earned a B.A. in art from Mercyhurst University where she was also a four-year starter on the softball team, serving as captain her senior year. After graduation, she spent 10 years working for a large magazine publishing company as an art director. Most recently, Lisa assisted the headmaster and ran the main office of a local private boarding school.

Lisa and her husband Joe have two children – Patrick and Claire, who are both in college.

2013 NCAA men’s tennis championship when the ‘Hoos won in dramatic fashion after the championship point was scored by UCLA but then awarded to UVA after the opponent touched the net. Mitchell Frank then rallied to win the final set which led the ‘Hoos to its first NCAA title in program history with an undefeated season. With the win, they also became the first ACC school in history to win an NCAA title.
